Advocates across Kentucky gathered in Louisville on October 7th for the Step Up for Kids Conference to celebrate National Step Up for Kids Week, and to prepare for the 6th Annual Children's Advocacy Day at the Capitol, to be held on February 18, 2010.

- Currently, youth can legally drop out of high school at age 16. Learn about the impact on youth, communities, as well as solutions for improving the rate of youth graduating from high school in Kentucky.

Fair Opportunity for Every Child: Juvenile Justice
- Amy Swann, Kentucky Youth Advocates and Rebecca Ballard DiLoreto, Children’s Law Center Kentucky has the second highest rate in the country of detaining youth for offenses that would not be crimes if committed by an adult.
- Learn about the current efforts underway for developing a model for communities to create other options than secure detention and for legislative changes to ensure other options are exhausted before charging youth with an offense.

Safe and Health Families: Family Preservation
