4th Annual Children's Advocacy
Day at the Capitol was a Huge Success!
Kentucky continues to rank in the bottom ten among states for child well-being. Children’s Advocacy Day at the Capitol began in 2005 as an effort to unite advocates from across the state to raise their voices together on behalf of children’s and families’ safety, health, education and economic well-being. Hundreds of advocates representing more than 40 counties bring children’s needs and solutions to statelegislators.
This year's kick off rally was entirely youth led! Check out the Agenda. Copies of the youth speeches available below.

- Distribute a Children's Advocacy Day flyer.
- Print Kentucky Children's Dollars to send to your legislators as a symbol of the need to invest in Kentucky's children (please print double sided).
- Print blank children's dollars for young children to draw or color. These can be delivered to legislators at any time throughout the year. Think about getting your local coalitions to fill them out to send on to your elected officials.
- Visit the Legislative Research Commission website for information on current and past legislation, how to contact your legislators, and to access kid-friendly pages.

Sponsoring organizations’ logos will appear on the press release, on all printed materials and on our website. Sponsors are welcome to bring one of their agency’s informational materials to our resource and information table on the day of the event. Your small donation helps cover the costs of education and materials for participants. Sponsors are also group leaders and bring a group to the capitol for Children’s Advocacy Day.
