Kentucky Resources

  • Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education - The Kentucky Council of Postsecondary Education coordinates change and improvement in Kentucky's postsecondary education system as directed by the Kentucky Postsecondary Education Improvement Act of 1997.
  • Kentucky Department of Education - The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) provides resources and guidance to Kentucky's public schools and districts as they implement the state's K-12 education requirements. The department also serves as the state liaison for federal education requirements and funding opportunities.
  • Kentucky Long-Term Policy Research Center - Kentucky Long-Term Policy Research Center works to change the way decisions are made in government by providing decision makers a broader context for decision making.

  • Achieve Inc. - Achieve Inc. is an independent, bipartisan, non-profit education reform organization that helps states raise academic standards, raise graduation requirements, improve assessments, and strengthen accountability.
  • America's Promise Alliance - America's Promise Alliance is a partnership that works to provide children with the resources they need to succeed- The Five Promises (caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, an effective education, and opportunities to help others).
  • American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) is a non-profit professional medical association dedicated to treating and improving the quality of life for children, adolescents, and families that are affected by mental, behavioral, and developmental disorders.
  • American Diploma Project - The American Diploma Project is a network that consists of 34 states dedicated to making sure every high-school graduate is prepared for college or careers.
  • Annie E. Casey Foundation - The Annie E. Casey Foundation fosters public policies, human-service reforms, and community supports to help vulnerable children and families succeed.
  • Center for Effective Discipline - The Center for Effective Discipline (CED) is a non-profit organization that provides educational information to the public on the effects of corporal punishment of children and alternatives to its use.
  • Center for Law and Social Policy - The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) is a nonprofit public policy and advocacy organization. CLASP conducts research, policy analysis, technical assistance, and advocacy on issues related to economic security and family stability for low-income parents, children, and youth.
  • Child Trends - Child Trends is a non-profit, nonpartisan research center that studies children at every stage of development. Child Trends provides research, data, and analysis to the people and institutions whose decisions and actions affect children, including policy makers, program providers, foundations, and the media.
  • Council of Chief State School Officers - The Council of Chief State School Officers assists state school officers in achieving the vision of an American education system that enables all children to succeed in school, work, and life.
  • The Education Trust - The Education Trust works for the high academic achievement of all students at all levels, while closing the achievement gaps that separate low-income students and students of color from other youth.
  • The Future of Children - The Future of Children promotes effective policies and programs for children by providing policymakers, service providers, and the media with timely, objective information based on the best available research.
  • Institute for Higher Education Policy - The Institute for Higher Education Policy in an independent, non-profit organization that works to increase access to, and success in, postsecondary education.
  • National Center for Children in Poverty - The National Center for Children in Poverty is a policy center dedicated to economic security, health, and well being of America's low income children and families.
  • National Center for Educational Statistics - The National Center for Educational Statistics is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data relating to the education in the U.S. and other nations.
  • National Center for Learning Disabilities - The National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLP) provides essential information to parents, professionals, and individuals with learning disabilities, promotes research and programs to foster effective learning, and advocates for policies to protect and strengthen educational rights and opportunities.
