Kentucky Economic Watch
Kentucky Youth Advocates' Tax and Budget Initiative introduces Kentucky Economic Watch. This new effort will provide consistent and comprehensive analysis of the three most telling data points reflecting the reality of Kentucky's economic climate; state General Fund revenue receipts, the state unemployment rate, and food stamp participation rates.
- General Fund revenue receipts will be released by the Office of the State Budget Director around the second week of every month
- The state unemployment rate will be released by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics around the third Friday of every month
- Food Stamp participation rates will be released by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services around the last week of every month.
Following the release of each data point, the Kentucky Tax & Budget Initiative will in turn release a brief update and a short commentary on the meaning for Kentucky’s economy.
